Little Ways to Spruce Up Your Home When the Spring Cleaning is Done

We’re all spending a little more time at home than we bargained for this spring. For the first time, you might even be ahead of the game on spring cleaning. If so, now is the perfect time to go the extra mile. These touches will make it a little bit easier to spend all that extra time at home.

Move the furniture around

Rearranging furniture is the oldest spring-cleaning trick in the book, and for good reason. Moving just a few key pieces is a surefire way to refresh any room. Start by moving one central piece, like your couch or bed, and the smaller accent pieces will follow. Use windows and light sources as anchors and test different relationships between those light sources and your main pieces. You could even sketch a few overhead floorplans (there’s an app for that!) to test your layout before you go to the trouble of moving everything.

Throw in a pillow or two (or three, or four…)

There’s no dull couch that an accent pillow can’t save – and that applies to every chair, bed or seating area in your home. The options are practically endless, so you’re certain to find options that match your budget and room. Start with an anchor color, then play with patterns, prints, textures, shapes and sizes. Add a little art

A little art goes a long way. One statement piece can completely change the look and feel of a room. Scour the internet for a print of one of your favorite works of art.
